KALYX records: the evidence that every body verifies itself
In KALYX, the record arises from the training, not alongside it. Whoever passes receives a tamper-proof piece of evidence with Open Badges 3.0 and a Verify number that any third party can verify itself, without an account and without checking back. This post shows what that looks like in the product, from the passed course to the publicly verifiable record.

- The record arises from the training. Whoever passes has the evidence, without anyone entering it later.
- Publicly verifiable. A Verify number that a third party opens itself, without an account.
- Tamper-proof, from our own code. Open Badges 3.0, a checksum over the content, a frozen snapshot.
- The record belongs to the person. They keep it and take it with them, even when they leave.
A record is only worth something if someone who does not have to take your word can verify it. That is exactly what KALYX is built on.

From the passed course to the evidence
In KALYX, every passed course automatically becomes a record. It carries four details that count when it matters: who, when, which content, with what result. No one enters this by hand, it arises with the passing. What exactly such a piece of evidence has to carry is set out in How do I prove that my staff are trained?.
Every record is an Open Badge 3.0, a digitally signed credential. Instead of a document you show around, the person gets a Verify number that any third party opens itself, without an account and without any detour through us. Why this is tamper-proof, entirely without a third-party watermark, is set out in What a tamper-proof training record means.
Frozen, so that it holds
A record must still show the same thing years later as on the day of issue. That is why the course content at the time of examination is frozen as a snapshot, and an issued record stays untouched afterwards, even if the course develops further. Whether such a record really holds, we tested on ourselves: We forged our own certificate.
The record belongs to the person
A record serves not only the auditing body but also the person who earned it. Under Skills, they see their path: passed courses, certificates, a level, and badges for steps reached.

These badges motivate, and they never pretend to be more than they are. In KALYX it says explicitly that levels and badges are an internal recognition of learning progress, not an official industry qualification. The real value lies elsewhere: the person keeps a verifiable piece of evidence of what they can do, and takes it with them, even when they change employer.
Named honestly. A KALYX record is a self-issued training record, not an officially recognised qualification. It shows that a person worked through a specific course content and passed the exam. It is not an officially recognised industry qualification and not an official confirmation from any authority that your obligations are met.
The figures are real views of the KALYX app with an invented example tenant. The technical details (Open Badges 3.0, checksum over the content, public Verify page, frozen snapshot) refer to the current state of the app.
